Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb

The first book of The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb, Assassin’s Apprentice is a must read for fantasy fans who enjoy a great story with an underdog character who you can root for. The main character of the tale, a young lad named Fitz Chivalry, who was born a bastard, has more struggles than one can count while being raised as an outcast. However Fitz is gifted or cursed, with a type of magic know as the Wit that allows him to bond and communicate with an animal companion. The story is very well written and Robin Hobb knows how to hook a reader in her tails. I found myself wanting to read the book so I could keep up with Fitz and his struggles to see how he fared in them. This book is a fast read (or was for me) as it keeps the readers interest in the plot. While writing this blog, I’m currently reading the second novel and will post on it as well. Such a great story I cant wait to finish and move on to the third novel. This is the first book I have read by Hobb but it certainly won’t be the last. I will eventually read everything she has in print. Enjoy!\m/
