Ok first of all, I am biased when it comes to Salvatore. I have never been let down or disappointed when it comes to his books. He is the only author that I actually get excited about a book release and count down the days to when it drops. I have read every one of his Forgotten Realms books dealing with Drizzt, Entreri and the like, many of them multiple times each. That being said, The Last Threshold is pure Salvatore at his finest. Its amazing to me just how well he describes a fight scene. The man literally puts you in the mix as if you may actually get in the way of what’s going on in the scene. Also I am never more captivated and glued to the pages than when he is writing about the ways and lives of drow elves. The intrigue, deceit, and evil ways of the drow are some of the most interesting of any of the races. No one captures that in words and description better than Salvatore. The man can flat out weave a tale. Drizzt and friends find themselves in plenty of predicaments with powerful foes and unseen allies. One of my favorite drow characters, Jarlaxle, plays a huge role in the story and anything involving this dark elf is surely a wild, adventurous ride. Not going to spoil anything for those who haven’t read it yet. If you have never read any of Salvatore’s brilliant fantasy and are a fan of the genre, do yourself a favor and do it. You will not be disappointed. \m/ \m/
